One of Northern Ireland’s leading chartered quantity surveying practices has launched a new Belfast office. Sammon Surveyors, which already has offices in Londonderry and Dublin, opened its new premises at Corporation Square in the city to help better position it to win further work in greater Belfast.
Sammon Surveyors, which provides quantity surveying and project management services to a wide range of public and private sector clients in Northern Ireland and the Republic, has been operating in Derry since 1984 and Dublin since 1998. Sammon employs some 25 people. Managing director, Jim Sammon, says that demand for residential and commercial property in Belfast is helping fuel the construction sector. “Sammon Surveyors has been securing work across Northern Ireland – including in Belfast - for the past 20 years, but feel that we will be better positioned to win contracts in the city by creating a permanent base there,” he says. “Northern Ireland’s construction industry is still not performing as well as it should be due to an over-dependence on the public sector and some underlying economic problems. “However demand for retail and residential property, particularly in Belfast, is creating quite a lot of work in the construction industry at the moment,” he says. “We feel that our experience, expertise and knowledge, and our new base in Belfast, puts us in a strong position to benefit from the recent growth in construction in the city,” Mr Sammon adds. |
