He is dedicated to promoting best practice in the industry and ensuring that Sammon provides a top quality service to every client. His experience includes feasibility studies, project management, cost planning, procurement and cost management over a range of major projects in the public and private sectors. A Fellow of the R.I.C.S. and a member of the Association of Project managers he sits on the Construction Excellence Board NI and is an external examiner at the University of Ulster. He is a former Chairman of RICS Northern Ireland. back to top>> Bob McGowan-Smyth FCA - Chairman Bob is a chartered accountant with over 20 years experience in business management and strategy. He has been a director on the boards of 19 private and public companies in Ireland and the UK.Bob was chief executive of Enterprise Equity, Northern Ireland's largest venture capital fund, from 1996 to 2004 before setting up his own business, financial and venture capital consultancy. His other directorships include Balcas Limited, the Enniskillen-based wood product supplier and renewable energy business, and Crescent Capital NI Limited, the Belfast-based venture capital fund manager. As non-executive chairman, his role at Sammon includes helping guide the company through further growth and expansion. back to top >> Brian Conway BSc MRICS PgD - Director Brian has 20 years experience as Quantity Surveyor and Project Management, 15 of which have been with Sammon, having previously worked for the public sector and private practice.
Brian has been involved in many prestigious projects at a senior level and has developed in-depth cost and project management expertise in the hotel/leisure and education sectorsHis specialist fields are: Brian is a people orientated person, focusing on the delivery of a tailor made service to meet specific client project needs. back to top >> Laurence Kennedy BSc (Hons) ASCS MRICS - Director
Laurence joined Sammon in 1993 as a graduate from Trinity College and Bolton Street College Dublin. With a primary honours degree in Construction Economics, he gained chartered recognition from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 1997 and is also a Chartered Member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors in Ireland. Laurence has developed a breadth and depth of knowledge and expertise in the retail and office sectors. His specialist fields include: Laurence is a keen negotiator and is well equipped to manage the commercial interests of clients from initial project inception through to final occupation by the end user. back to top >> Ciarán Doherty BSc (Hons) MSc MRICS - Associate Ciarán joined Sammon as a graduate in 2002 and after completing his MSc in Project Management, he gained chartership with RICS in 2006. Ciarán's areas of expertise are in cost control, both pre and post-contract. He has a proven ability to develop good working relationships with other members of the design team and this is borne out by his ability to achieve effective cost control on projects.
